Every week we're bringing you a selection of Add-ons—a mix of our favorite appetizers, sides, and desserts that you can add to your box and fill out your table. For deliciously sweet and savory flavor, we're baking crispy baguette with a melty white cheddar and grated pear mixture, then finishing it all with chewy dates and crunchy almonds for more exciting texture.

Place an oven rack in the center of the oven, then preheat to 450°F. Halve the baguette lengthwise. Wash and dry the pear; grate on the large side of a box grater, discarding the core. Grate the cheese on the large side of a box grater. In a bowl, combine the grated pear and grated cheese; season with salt and pepper. Pit and roughly chop the dates.
Line a sheet pan with foil. Transfer the halved baguette to the foil, cut sides up. Evenly top each half with the grated pear and cheese; drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake 9 to 11 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the baguette is lightly browned around the edges. Remove from the oven. When cool enough to handle, transfer to a cutting board. Cut each half into equal-sized pieces. Serve the baked baguette garnished with the chopped dates and almonds. Enjoy!
