Prepare the ingredients

Preheat the oven to 450°F. Wash and dry the fresh produce. Halve, peel, and thinly slice the onion. Thinly slice the chives. In a bowl, combine the béchamel, half the parmesan, and a drizzle of olive oil; season with salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, combine the fig spread, 1 teaspoon of water, and as much of the chile paste as you’d like, depending on how spicy you’d like the dish to be.

In a bowl, combine the béchamel, half the parmesan, and a drizzle of olive oil; season with salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, combine the fig spread, 1 teaspoon of water, and as much of the chile paste as you’d like, depending on how spicy you’d like the dish to be.

Line a sheet pan with foil. Place the bacon on the foil; arrange in an even layer. Roast 8 to 12 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

Meanwhile, transfer the pizza crust to the center of a sheet pan; drizzle or brush with olive oil to evenly coat. Bake 6 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Leaving the oven on, remove from the oven. Let cool about 5 minutes.

Bake the flatbread & serve your dish

Leaving a 1-inch border around the edges, evenly top the baked crust with the béchamel mixture, sliced onion, and goat cheese (crumbling before adding). Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake 5 to 9 minutes, or until the onion is lightly browned and the crust is crispy. Remove from the oven and let stand at least 2 minutes. Carefully transfer to a cutting board. Top with the cooked bacon (crumbling before adding) and spicy fig sauce. Cut into equal-sized pieces. Serve the finished flatbread garnished with the sliced chives and remaining parmesan. Enjoy!
