From the Test Kitchen

These delicious biscuits get delightfully savory flavor from rich prosciutto, scallions, and sour cream mixed into the batter, plus the melty cheese piled on top. A Calabrian chile honey adds the perfect amount of spicy-sweet balance.

Cheesy Prosciutto & Scallion Biscuits with Hot Honey
Title
  • 3 oz Prosciutto
  • 2 Scallions
  • 1 cup Biscuit Mix
  • 2 Tbsps All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsps Honey
  • ¼ cup Sour Cream
  • 1½ tsps Calabrian Chile Paste
  • 2 oz Shredded Cheddar & Monterey Jack Cheese Blend
step-by-step
instructions
1 Prepare the ingredients
Place an oven rack in the center of the oven, then preheat to 400°F. Wash, dry, and thinly slice the scallions. Stack the prosciutto (removing the plastic lining between the slices), then small dice.
2 Bake the biscuits
In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix, flour, sour cream, sliced scallions, diced prosciutto (separating any big clumps), half the cheddar and monterey jack, and 3 tablespoons of water. Gently stir until just combined (be careful not to overmix). Lightly oil a sheet pan. Scoop the biscuit dough into 4 equal-sized dollops; place on the oiled sheet pan. Evenly top each biscuit with the remaining cheddar and monterey jack. Bake 12 to 16 minutes, or until the biscuits are set and cooked through. Remove from the oven.
3 Make the hot honey & serve your dish
Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the honey and as much of the chile paste as you’d like, depending on how spicy you’d like the dish to be. Serve the baked biscuits drizzled with the hot honey. Enjoy!
