Collection includes 6 x 500 mL bottles (2/3 of a standard-size wine bottle) featuring the following wines:
  • 2014 Vermillion Cab Blend: The wine world is grateful Helen Keplinger didn’t go to medical school; no one is better at creating captivating flavor combinations in wine. It’s why she graced the cover of Wine Spectator and was Food & Wine‘s Winemaker of the Year. The accolades were hard-earned: Many weeks, Helen drives 1,200 miles between the vineyards she’s identified as California’s best to watch each plot’s ripening progress and ensure harvest at just the right moment. She blended grapes from those sites to craft this complex red.  This wine is blend of 42% Grenache, 36% Syrah, 15.5% Mourvèdre, and 6.5% Petite Sirah.
  • 2017 Anthesis Pinot Noir: Each year winemakers in the Willamette Valley clamor to get Pinot Noir grapes from the Stermer and Briscoe vineyards. Most are out of luck—but not Richard Sowalsky, our in-house winemaker. He has the track record to assure the farmers that Anthesis—our label dedicated to the best vineyards—does their coveted grapes justice. His 2016 Anthesis earned 90 points from Wine Enthusiast, outscoring many of Oregon’s biggest names. Richard believes this new Pinot is even better.
  • 2017 Le P'tit Paysan Cabernet Sauvignon: Wine maverick Ian Brand has crafted more Blue Apron wines than anyone else, for the simple reason that we can always expect a pleasant surprise—like a punk band releasing an acoustic tune. His 2016 Cabernet was a rustic, old-school delight. So in 2017, he sought to make a Cab that’s a little more modern, akin to the classic California Cabernets that balance intense fruit flavors with spicy, savory notes. One sip will leave you saying, “Rock on, Ian.”
  • 2016 Vignobles Bulliat Gamay: Fresh out of winemaking school in 1978, Noël Bulliat bought 10 acres of vineyards in Beaujolais. The region was known for bland bulk wines, but serious growers like Noël transformed Beaujolais and its reputation. Now he and his son, Loïc, farm and hand-harvest more than 65 acres in Morgon, Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent, three of Beaujolais’ top villages. This wine, which earned 91 points from Wine Enthusiast, comes from the Bulliats’ prized plot of 50-year-old vines.
  • 2014 Pax Red Blend: The career path from sommelier to winemaker is a popular one to follow, everyone trying to emulate trailblazer Pax Mahle. Critic Robert Parker and Wine Spectator have awarded him dozens of ratings over 95 points. Adhering to the style that made him famous, for this exclusive red Pax selected grapes grown in cool, high-elevation vineyards he relies on to impart wines with alluring aromas and concentrated flavors—the kind that capture the critics’ attention.
  • 2017 Leaf and Vine Zinfandel/Petite Sirah: Tim Keith is always pursuing bigger and better things—impressive given that he’s on his own at Leaf and Vine. Tim does every job, from hauling truckloads of grapes to pouring samples in his tasting room. You’d think there’d be no time for examination. Still, even though the 2016 vintage of this wine was anything but shy, he felt he couldn’t exercise a shred of restraint in 2017. “This year,” Tim says, “it’s a full-throttle wine.” Subtlety is so overrated. The wine is a blend of 55% Zinfandel and 45% Petite Sirah.
