Collection includes 3 x 500 mL bottles (2/3 of a standard-size wine bottle) featuring the following wines:
- 2016 Omen Red Blend: For this blend, Omen’s Alexandre Remy used his favorite small vineyards, little gems with grapes he could combine into a powerhouse of a red that’s fantastic with bold-flavored foods. This wine is a blend of 47% Petite Sirah, 47% Syrah, 6% Merlot, and it is typical of the style that’s proving popular as the Sierra Foothills’ star rises.
- 2014 Château Rampeau Bordeaux: Bordeaux is being turned upside down by winemakers like Bernard Meynaud who prove that you don’t need a big, opulent château with gilded gates to craft great wines. This wine’s full flavors and ageability are the result of his efforts, not a fancy façade for his house. This wine is 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. It is is classic in style for Bordeaux, with a perfect balance of fruit flavors, tannins and subtle, savory spice notes from aging the wine in oak barrels.
- 2016 Grape to Bottle Zinfandel: GTB Zinfandel is classic in style, the perfect California Zin—which means it has both power and finesse. It has big fruit flavors accented by pepper and spice notes that bring balance to the wine. Oakley, a suburb east of the Bay Area, has a distinct difference from the nearby cities: It has a pioneering vineyard, planted in 1910, right near the middle of town. The Del Barba property, still owned and run by the family of the same name, is beloved for its gnarly, decades-old Zinfandel vines that are not irrigated. Their roots extend deep into the loose sandy soil in search of water and nutrients, which fill the tiny grapes with concentrated, powerful flavors.
