Full-bodied with floral and herbal notes, as well as the tanginess of natural acidity, the 2016 Prism Teroldego has highly concentrated fruit flavors similar to that of a zinfandel. The 2016 Antico Monastero Nebbiolo is a versatile, fruity classic with subtle savory notes, while the 2016 Uvaggio Vermentino is a light-bodied wine that contributes bright citrus flavors.

Collection includes 3 x 500 mL bottles (2/3 of a standard-size wine bottle) featuring the following wines:
  • 2016 Prism Teroldego: Never heard of Teroldego? Neither had Bryan Babcock when an Italian winemaker visiting California brought him a bottle. Bryan was certain Teroldego’s intense fruit flavors would be a hit if he could find the grape in California. It took years, but eventually he met grower Michael Haddox, who loved Teroldego even more. “Very few guys are as geeked up as Michael is on Teroldego,” Bryan says, which makes the winemaking simple. “I just crush it and let it go.”
  • 2016 Uvaggio Vermentino: After 20 years working for Napa icon Robert Mondavi, Jim Moore launched the Uvaggio label in 1998 to demonstrate California’s prowess with Italian grapes. Vermentino became his calling card, given his long run of high scores from Wine Enthusiast and Decanter. The pinnacle was 93-point Enthusiast scores in 2009 and 2010—and Jim used those same vineyard sites for this 2016 Vermentino. There’s one difference, though: He thinks this wine’s better than those 93-pointers.
  • 2016 Antico Monastero Nebbiolo: After Luca Bosio earned his winemaking degree a few years ago, his parents were so confident in his talent that they renamed the family business for Luca and gave him control. Langhe is one of the few Italian wine regions where fresh thinking and experimentation are as valued as tradition—and Luca is the poster child for blending all three. He aims to create wines that honor the region’s centuries-old wine history (hence this wine’s name), yet are simply delicious with dinner.
