Holiday Party Bundle

  • Price $70.00

We have sold out of the 2016 Tablas Creek Red Blend depicted here. We will be replacing it with the 2016 Vermillion Red Blend.

This Holiday Party Bundle is well-rounded and sure to please your guests with three reds, two whites, and one rosé. The reds include the fruity yet savory Palmina Sangiovese from Santa Barbara Icon Steve Clifton and a spicy Rhône Valley style red blend from Stéphanie Daumas. The whites include the zesty Uvaggio Vermentino, with bright citrus flavors and an underlying mineral note that are both signature qualities of the grape, and the Pax White Blend from Pax Mahle, elegant with a brightness that makes your mouth water for more. The collection is rounded out with the fruit forward and bright Airfield Rosé crafted from Yakima Valley, WA Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2016 Vermillion Red.

Collection includes 6 x 500 mL bottles (2/3 of a standard-size wine bottle) featuring the following wines:
  • 2015 Palmina Sangiovese: Palmina Sangiovese is a fruity red, its plum and cherry flavors supported by subtle savory notes. Like a Tuscan red, it’s also vibrant—and therefore a great match with pasta and pizza. Steve Clifton’s passion isn’t wines for critics, it’s food-friendly wines for everyone—which he learned about from his grandmotherly Italian landlord, Palmina, who housed Steve when he was a young cellar hand.
  • 2015 Stéphanie Daumas Red Blend: Stéphanie Daumas Visan is a classic southern Rhône red, full of dark-fruit flavors perfectly balanced with savory characters—which is just what you want in a Villages-level wine. Blending tradition and her education, Stéphanie Daumas recast Visan as a place for fruity, bright wines that are among the Rhône’s very best. This wine is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre.
  • 2016 Vermillion Red Blend: Vermillion Red is a California twist on the style of wine you find in France’s southern Rhône Valley. It strikes a perfect balance between sweet fruit and herbal flavors so it’ll complement food, not overpower it. You’ll join Helen Keplinger’s legion of followers after your first taste of this red—crafted to be perfectly balanced and delicious with any dish. Helen’s secret: exacting farming standards, natural winemaking and masterful blending. But she’s the first to admit that California’s incredible 2016 season made her job easy.
  • 2015 Uvaggio Vermentino: For this wine, Jim Moore, protege of Napa Icon Robert Mondavi, found two vineyards in Lodi with soil and climate conditions nearly identical to those of Sardinia, home of the world’s best Vermentinos. Uvaggio Vermentino is classic in style, a paradigm even for Italian Vermentinos. It has the zestiness, bright citrus flavors and an underlying mineral note that are signature qualities of the grape.
  • 2015 Pax White Blend: Pax White is delightfully deceptive, as its powerful aromas suggest the wine is more intense than it actually is. For all its concentration the wine is also very elegant, with a brightness that makes your mouth water for more. Much of this wine comes from grapes grown in high-elevation vineyards in inland Lake County—a sunny, dry area that’s also one of California’s coolest. The chilly air slows the grapes’ ripening and gives the wines their trademark, mouthwatering freshness.
  • 2016 Airfield Rosé: Airfield Estates Rosé is similar to the style you’d find in Spain: light and fresh, with an emphasis on fruit flavors rather than mineral or floral characters. Winemaker Marcus Miller had used only Sangiovese to make Airfield’s rosé, but he decided to take a gamble on a small section of his property replanted with Cabernet vines a few years ago. This rosé soared above Marcus’s Sangiovese rosés.
