Collection includes 3 x 500 mL bottles (2/3 of a standard-size wine bottle) featuring the following wines:
- 2016 Grape to Bottle Zinfandel:Oakley, a suburb east of the Bay Area, has a distinct difference from the nearby cities: It has a pioneering vineyard, planted in 1910, right near the middle of town. The Del Barba property, still owned and run by the family of the same name, is beloved for its gnarly, decades-old Zinfandel vines that are not irrigated. Their roots extend deep into the loose sandy soil in search of water and nutrients, which fill the tiny grapes with concentrated, powerful flavors.
- 2017 GTB Zinfandel: Oakley, a suburb east of the Bay Area, has a pioneering vineyard, planted in 1910, right near the middle of town. The Del Barba property, still owned and run by the family of the same name, is beloved for its gnarled, decades-old Zinfandel vines that yield wines with unparalleled flavor concentration and complexity. This is the second consecutive vintage Richard Sowalsky made from grapes he was able to secure from the historic site, producing a powerhouse of a Zin.
- 2016 Easton Zinfandel: Bill Easton is the Sierra Foothills fine-wine pioneer, having championed Zinfandel ahead of its golden age and put Amador County on the map. In the 1980s, two decades before California’s top winemakers started flocking to this under-the-radar region for its ideal climate and undervalued land, Bill was here, quietly making robust Zinfandels. He’s had some help, though: The sun powers Bill’s winery, and Bart the cat and a team of barn owls do exterminator duty in the vineyard.
